Moving during the holiday season can feel overwhelming, here are a few Thanksgiving moving tips to help while you are moving.

Keep Kids Entertained

Have your kids decorate the moving boxes. Just give them some crayons or colored pencils and they can draw festive Thanksgiving pictures on the boxes. This will help to include the kids in the moving process as well as keeping them in the holiday spirit.

Organize All The Thanksgiving Dinner Necessities

Before moving day you can set aside all the basics that you will need for your Thanksgiving Dinner in one moving box and label it well.  Be sure to tell the movers to set that particular box aside at the new home so it is readily available on Thanksgiving Day regardless if you do not have the rest of the house unpacked yet.  This will help relieve the stress of trying to find everything while you are making dinner.

Remember to Take Some Family Time

Moving, especially around the holidays can be stressful. But remember, this time of year is about family, so take some time to have quality family time. Maybe when you are packing, have a football or soccer ball accessible so you and your family can take a break and spend some quality time together.

Give Thanks

Even during a move, always remember to give thanks for every day.  There is always something to be thankful for. Have everyone in the family, even the movers if you so choose say one thing that they are thankful for.  This will also help to bring in the holiday spirit. Hiring a moving company will help to relieve your stress and can even end up being the thing that you are thankful for.

All of us here at Access Gentle Moving are thankful to be apart of such an amazing community. We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
